Residual Projects

Residual Projects was a series of miniature residencies at South Square Gallery in Bradford where seven artists used the exhibition space to explore their own artistic processes whilst the gallery was open to the public. The work they created during their residency was left for the next artist to negotiate when ownership of the gallery was handed over. Artists were encouraged to respond to the unique layered history of the building, from rural workers cottage to community arts space.

Participating artists included Rebecca Long and Cameron Muir, Alice Bradshaw, Claire Weetman, Leah Hislop, Tom McGinn and Ian Jackson.

The project was the culmination of a year-long curatorial fellowship for Charlie where she worked between the Hepworth Wakefield and South Square Gallery in 2014-2015.
